Jambo and Karibu to Black Giraffe Dancing Adventures(BGDA) blog!  I’ve been in the travel industry for 36 years, owning my travel agency since 1995 and starting BDGA in 2013.  My first trip to the continent of Africa was in 1998 when I went to Ghana to prepare for a group of 600 I was handling travel for and over the past 18 years I’ve traveled exclusively to the continent of Africa.  I’ve always wondered about doing a blog as I’ve had some very interesting experiences from working with the White House travel staff in 2003 in Abjua, Nigeria to being asked to leave a cab at gun point in Equatorial Guinea however; I never knew what went into a blog, how to start it, how long should a blog be, what to talk about etc.  After talking to a few people I came to understand that a blog is whatever I want it to be.  The next question was “what do I blog about to keep interest?”  Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing more on BGDA, updates on The Black Giraffe Foundations progress with The Mulala Village Water project and the Osiligi Orphanage, my travel experiences etc.  The first extensive blog I’ll be posting will be a his and her perspective on hiking Mt Kilimanjaro.  During our Dec 27, 2015-Jan 2, 2016 hike up the Machame route we both shared our thoughts verbally to each other and on paper on that days hike.  The Machame route is considered the hardest trail to hike however; it’s also the most successful trail when it comes to reaching the top of Mt Kilimanjaro.  I hope you’ll find this and all future blogs interesting and helpful when it comes to planning your next adventure.  Asante sana for visiting Black Giraffe Dancing Adventures web-site and blog.
